Thanksgiving has come and gone and many of us are now ready to embrace the Christmas season.  It’s the time of year that many of us are doing our best to come up with the perfect gift for each person on our list.  If you are looking for health and fitness gift ideas, look no further.

I am personally a huge fan of giving experiences over gifts, but there are still a few gifts that I purchase and that I would really love to receive.  In my opinion, someone that is into health and fitness is a fun person to buy for.  The key is to buy something that they will actually use.

If you aren’t sure what to buy that fitness enthusiast in your life, we’ve gathered some of our favorite gifts to give you some ideas this year.  We’ve included a variety of price ranges from stocking stuffers to that big gift for your special someone.  We hope this list helps to make your shopping a little easier this year.

Classes or Training Programs

You can find class passes to just about anything these days.  I don’t know many people that wouldn’t love a gift certificate or class pass to their favorite workout program.  Fitness classes such as Fixed on Fitness, yoga classes, spinning classes, or pilates classes are all great options.  If you are looking for more of a high end option, you can look at personal training sessions or group training sessions.

If your recipient is not into group workouts, check out a running program, climbing class, or even a cooking class.

Subscription Service

Online subscription services are great gifts, and they cover a variety of price points.  Some ideas that any health nut will love include the yoga app Down DogMobilityWODAudible, and FMTV.

If you are giving to a foodie, a service such as Blue ApronHello Fresh, and The Good Kitchen are great ideas.

Health Coaching

So often, people are willing to invest in someone else, but they feel guilty investing in themselves.  The first FOF health coaching course of 2019 will begin on January 2nd.  This is a gift that will keep on giving, as it is a complete wellness program that is personalized to each individual participant.  Here are just a few benefits of this program.

Giving the gift of health coaching will give your special someone the knowledge to make permanent changes in their health and wellness, tools to overcome barriers that have held them back, and motivation to conquer their goals.  You can purchase a gift card for any dollar amount, or you can complete the registration process here.

A great massage is something we all deserve.  However, it’s easy to feel guilty about spending the money and the time to go get a massage.  Find a great local spa or massage therapist, grab a gift card, and then offer to watch the kids or cook dinner so that your special someone can go get a massage.  If you are buying a gift certificate, go ahead and add in the tip…trust me, this is always greatly appreciated by the recipient as well as the massage therapist.

Specialty Spa

Think cryotherapy or float therapy.  I guarantee if the person you are buying for works out, they would love the opportunity for some recovery time.  Specialty spas usually sell their services separately or you can buy a package.  Many people would benefit greatly from these places, but they aren’t always willing to invest in treating themselves.  Locally, Mode is a great place with many options.

New Workout Apparel

Workout clothes are something we all use, and good ones are expensive.  Grab a gift card to Lululemon or Athleta, and I promise it will be extremely appreciated.  Most local specialty stores also carry a great assortment of quality workout clothes.

Don’t forget about socks and sunglasses.  My go to for socks is Feetures.  For sunglasses, check out Goodr or Tifosi for great glasses that literally do not move when you workout.

Fitness Equipment

Everyone needs a few good pieces of fitness equipment at home.  I’m not talking a treadmill or exercise bike.  After a few months, these big pieces end up serving as laundry holders instead of exercise equipment.  Grab some small items that can be stored in the closet or kept in the car.  Two pieces of equipment that everyone can put to good use are a kettlebell and a jump rope.  For kettlebells, you can grab one at your local sporting goods store, or go all out and buy from Kettlebell Kings.  For jump ropes, a good inexpensive one is the Sonic Boom.  A higher end rope that is great is the Rx Rope.

If you want to get fancy and up your game, a sandbag is a great challenge for just about anyone.

Running Shoes

Not sure what shoes to buy?  Get a gift card.  I highly recommend supporting a local running shop when it comes to buying new shoes.  This way, the gift card recipient can go and get fitted for the proper shoes.  Our local store in Pensacola is Running Wild.  They have a great selection of shoes, apparel, and other fun gifts.

If you don’t have a runner on your list, head to your local bike shop or other outdoors shop for a gift card.

Tissue Therapy Gear

Good tissue therapy equipment is vital for anyone that works out.  Grab a few items from TriggerPoint or MobilityWOD.  Our favorites are the Grid, Battlestar, Gemini, VooDoo Floss, or just a few cheap lacrosse balls.

Who doesn’t love food?  If you are buying for someone that has everything, take a look at a gift box from a company like Butcher Box or Vital Choice.  These companies raise and ship high quality meats that are sustainably sourced.

If meat isn’t your thing, try gourmet olive oils or an assortment of snack food from a company like Steve’s Paleo Goods.  Online grocers such as Thrive Market are also fantastic options.

You can also go with a gift card to a high end grocery store such as Whole Foods or Fresh Market.  I’m pretty sure we all love to shop at these stores, but they aren’t exactly budget friendly.  However, I don’t think anyone would argue with a gift card to go splurge.

Chocolate.  Need I say more?  Gourmet chocolate can make a great stocking stuffer, teacher gift, or Dirty Santa gift.  Check out Coracao ChocolatesHu, or Eating Evolved.

Can you really go wrong here?  We love Dry Farm Wines.  They are delicious, low in alcohol, and contain no added sugar.  Basically, they are hangover free…who doesn’t love that?

Safe Beauty and Home Products

If you are gifting someone that takes pride in their health, don’t look past the cosmetic drawer or the cleaning cabinet.  Many cosmetic products are loaded with toxic chemicals that have been shown to disrupt hormones and overall health.  I began using Beautycounter products in 2016, and I haven’t looked back.  These products work well, and they are safe thanks to the Beautycounter Never List.  Check out the holiday gift sets to make any lady on your list happy.  My personal favorites are the Cleansing Balm, No 1 Brightening Face Oil, the Exfoliating Cream Cleanser, and the Overnight Resurfacing Peel.

For home products, Thrive Market is a great place to start.  I also love Grove Collaborative for a variety of cleaning and home products that are free from harsh chemicals.

Whether it’s a great book to read or a cookbook, books are still a great gift idea for a variety of people.  A few books that we have enjoyed lately include Own the Day, Own Your LifeThe One ThingGenius FoodsEndureGirl, Wash your FaceEssentialism12 Rules for Life, and Unfu*k Yourself.

When it comes to cooking, I am personally still a fan of the old fashioned cookbook.  I try so hard to go digital, but I usually still gravitate toward a cookbook.  My favorites are Juli Bauer’s Paleo CookbookClean Eating with a Dirty MindThe Whole30 CookbookThe Keto Diet, and Fed and Fit.

Wireless Headphones

If you have a runner on your list, wireless headphones are awesome. The days of cords and getting all tangled up are long gone.  You can find so many options in various price ranges from budget friendly to high end.

You better really love somebody for this one.  Garmin is a trusted brand and well loved by most health and fitness lovers.  They have a few models to choose from, but if you want to splurge, go with the Fenix 5.

Merry Christmas

I hope that this list helps to ease your stress when it comes to shopping and gift giving this year.  I highly encourage you to avoid buying something just to buy it.  If you don’t know what to get, go with an experience, offer to cook dinner, or bake an amazing healthy dessert.

Christmas is about so much more than gifts.  Spend time with the people you love.  If you are moved to treat someone {or yourself}, do so, but don’t feel like you have to buy for every single person you know.

Cheers to officially kicking off the Christmas season.
